Perú Social is an extension of the registered company South America Social S.A.C. in Perú. South America Social S.A.C. is a private company which promotes travel and volunteering in Peru, aiming to help the underprivileged areas of Lima. These Terms and Conditions are made for Perú Social and the site https://www.perusocial.com.pe.
Please read the Perú Social Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting your online booking form. By clicking on the box besides the words 'I have read and agree to the Perú Social legal terms and conditions' and agreeing to them in the online booking application form, you understand that you must be 18 years of age, that you are you have the personal and legal capacity to sign contracts, and that you understand and agree with the information provided.
The volunteer/traveler is solely responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to Lima, Peru, specifically all airfares or other transport costs to and from the country as well as any local transport costs not included in the program.
It is the responsibility of the traveler/volunteer to carry all necessary documents when travelling abroad. While Perú Social may advise the volunteer/traveler on required travel documentation, Perú Social is not responsible for any supporting documents necessary for the client’s travel needs or other purposes.
Perú Social is not responsible if entry to the country is denied to the traveler/volunteer due to failure of complying with visa requirements or any other reason.
Perú Social does not include insurance of any kind in its programs. Insurance is not mandatory to travel and volunteer with Perú Social, but it is highly recommended. The traveler/volunteer is solely responsible for evaluating and determining the type, duration, and levels of any insurance coverage they need or desire for their planned volunteer and travel period. Although, Perú Social may advise the traveler/volunteer which companies can provide them with insurance, it is the responsibility of the traveler/volunteer to purchase the insurance.
Perú Social does not charge for volunteer work but instead it combines travel trip and volunteer work in one comprehensive package for a more convenient experience in Peru. As a consequence, Perú Social operates on margins that are not similar to its competitors. All of the programs offered by Perú Social are refundable within 30 days before the start of the chosen travel and volunteer program they have chosen. The refund however, will be 40% of the program fee.
Compared to companies that provide similar comprehensive volunteer service opportunities, Perú Social registration and program fees are significantly less than the fees charged by other such companies. Volunteers are encouraged to compare Perú Social’s fees to the fees charged by other similar companies.
The traveler/volunteer may take part in other activities not included in the programs offered by Perú Social in his/her free time (i.e. tours and other activities in Lima). The costs of such activities will be at the expense of the traveler/volunteer and should not conflict with the activities of the Perú Social programs.
Program fees are set out on our website and revisions will be made via the Perú Social website with seven days advanced notice given before they take effect. An e-mail announcement will also be sent to registered traveler/volunteers who have not paid the fees to inform them of the fee changes. Program fee revisions are not applicable to volunteers who have already paid their registration fee before the revisions take effect. Program fees are due forty (40) days prior to the beginning of the volunteer’s program placement. Failure to make this payment will cause in a loss of program placement with no refund of initial deposit. Program fees are not transferable to other persons.
Once registered and before the traveler/volunteer begins the program of choice with Perú Social, the he/she is entitled to change their start date and duration twice, at no additional cost until four (4) weeks before the start of initial program date. If a third change is needed in the start date or duration of the program of choice, the traveler/volunteer is required to pay an administration fee of US$50 for each change made.
The traveler/volunteer acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their agreement to travel to, temporarily live in and provide volunteer services in a developing country. Such travel and volunteer work can sometimes be hazardous and may involve a certain degree of risk, inherently dangerous activities and personal perils to the volunteer, both foreseen and unforeseen, all of which are fully accepted by and solely assumed by the traveler/volunteer. Therefore, Perú Social, including any and all of its employees, managers, directors, shareholders, and partners are not liable, to the maximum extent of the law, for any loss or harm the volunteer or associates may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused directly or indirectly by:
- Personal injury;
- Emotional injury;
- Illness or disease;
- Damage to or loss of property;
- Hostage situations; or
- War or terrorism.
The traveler/volunteer also understands that Perú Social is not responsible for any unforeseen changes that are out of the control and responsibility of Perú Social to: 1) Local itinerary of trips; 2) Accommodation at travel destinations; 3) And means and routes of transportation may change.
The traveler/volunteer agrees to indemnify Perú Social against any and all liability which Perú Social incurs arising directly or indirectly out of, or in connection (in any way) with, the traveler/volunteer's travel to, living in and providing volunteer services in Peru.
The traveler/volunteer must abide by the rules put in place by the Perú Social Volunteer Home with regards to alcohol consumption. Drug use (unless prescribed by a doctor) is strictly prohibited and will result in instant dismissal from the program with no refund.
Perú Social has the right to terminate its agreement with the traveler/volunteer without refund, if the traveler/volunteer does not act accordingly to the Terms and Conditions specified in this document, the Code of Conduct posted in the pre-departure briefing, the Volunteer Home rules and local Peruvian law. Perú Social should not and will not be held responsible for any violation from the traveler/volunteer of any of the laws, rules and regulations.
The traveler/volunteer agrees to comply with the Perú Social Code of Conduct which will be sent by Perú Social to the traveler/volunteer as part of the pre-departure briefing e-mail, and will also be displayed at the Volunteer Home.
Perú Social reserves the right to use feedback and images provided by volunteers/travelers for website materials such as testimonials, with permission from the traveler/volunteer.
To the full extent permissible at law, all representations, terms, warranties, guarantees, or conditions whether implied by statute, common law or custom of the trade or otherwise, including, but not limited to, implied warranties and guarantees, are excluded.
This website is presented solely for the purpose of promoting Perú Social and those of Perú Social’s partner organizations. This site is controlled and operated by South America Social S.A.C. from its offices in Peru. Perú Social makes no representation that materials in the site are appropriate or available for use in other locations. Those who choose to access this site from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible to the extent local law is applicable.
Perú Social does not warrant or make any representations regarding the correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise of the materials in this site or the result of their use.
Perú Social and its partner organizations reserve the right to remove the traveler/volunteer from the program, if necessary.
Perú Social has no liability for any lack of performance, unavailability or failure of the services or its website, or for any failure of Perú Social to comply with these terms and conditions, where the same arises from any cause reasonably beyond the control of Perú Social, according the Peruvian Regulation.
